CGHA Compensation(s)

“It takes a village” and this is an understatement!  There are many families, businesses, & individuals who support our great hockey community.  Along with the continued support we have necessary position to run a 650+ player organization.  Cottage Grove Hockey Association (CGAH) Board has approved a multi-tiered compensation model that is both fiscally responsible while maintaining the boards fiduciary duty to the organization.  This is also considering and in line with association initiative to keep player fee(s) affordable while delivering a great player experience on and off the ice.

  • Tier 1: Sixteen (16) Position(s)
  • Tier 2: One (1) Position
  • Tier 3: Seven (7) Position(s)
  • Traveling Team Staff: Eighty (80) Position(s)
  • In-House Team Staff: One Hundred and Twenty-four (124) Position(s)

2019-20 Hockey Season CGHA has approved position(s) as outlined above resulting in a total of twenty-four (24) position(s) receiving a stipend totaling $28,500, Two hundred twenty-eight (228) position(s) with fulfilled volunteer requirements totaling 1,824 hrs., and sixteen (16) position(s) receiving fulfilled fundraising requirements.


Tier 1

Compensation is based on an expected over 125+ hours of work over the course of a calendar year.

  • $1,500 Stipend Annually
    • Dispersed: Appointment of Position (1/3), Fulfillment of Attendance (1/3), Fulfillment of Position Roles & Responsibilities (1/3)
  • All Volunteer requirements FULFILLED (i.e. “Dib” hours)
  • All Fundraising commitments FULFILLED (i.e. Calendar Raffle)
Tier 2

Compensation is based on an expected over 75+ hours of work over the course of a calendar year.

  • $1,000 Stipend Annually
    • Dispersed: Appointment of Position (1/3), Fulfillment of Attendance (1/3), Fulfillment of Position Roles & Responsibilities (1/3)
  • All Volunteer requirements FULFILLED (i.e. “Dib” hours)
Tier 3

Compensation is based on an expected over 50+ hours of work over the course of a calendar year.

  • $500 Stipend Annually
    • Dispersed: Appointment of Position (1/3), Fulfillment of Attendance (1/3), Fulfillment of Position Roles & Responsibilities (1/3)
  • All Volunteer requirements FULFILLED (i.e. “Dib” hours)

Traveling Team Staff

Each traveling level team is provided a coaching staff which consists of four (4) people; One (1) Head Coach, Two (2) assistant coaches, & One (1) Team Manager.

  • All Volunteer requirements FULFILLED (i.e. “Dib” hours)
  • Exclusive Coaching Store (Discounted products)
In-House Team Staff

Each In-House team is provided four (4) total staff consisting of One (1) required head coach and Three (3) additional staff members.
