Fundraisers:

  • Calendar: The board has decided put on hold until we are able to resume play.  Since this is our largest fundraiser every year, once the season resumes the calendar fundraiser will be needed to balance our budget.  We will activate the fundraiser with updates based on new timelines once they are known and we will ask all of our members to participate if they have not already opted out at registration.  Note:  We will not resume this until at least January in order to respect the budgetary strain of the holidays and hardships being felt due to this pause.
  • Hockeyfest:  At this point we are canceling the traditional in-person version of Hockeyfest due to current COVID-19 restrictions.   There simply is no way to allow the large crowds to attend and support this program with the current and anticipated COVID protocols.  This event take months of planning in order to be successful.  It is too early at this point to determine what we could do as an alternative but the board will continue to consider different options as Hockeyfest strongly represents our proud hockey tradition here in Cottage Grove.
  • Volunteer requirements (Dibs):  At this point, all Dib shifts are put on hold and a review of the annual requirement will be done as a part of our return to play planning process.  We can confidently state that the current 8 hour requirement will be reduced due to the cancelation of hosted tournaments and additional events such as Hockeyfest.  We still NEED your help as a hockey community and will communicate the new plan as soon as we know more details on our return to play.  Note:  We are aware that some hours still need to be issued to those who have already worked and we will continue to work to have your accounts reflect this.  Please continue to have patience with this process.
  • Team Fundraiser(s):  All in-person fundraisers are prohibited until further notice.  Additionally, CGHA has decided to strictly follow the most recent recommendations of MN Hockey related to other restrictions on team gatherings and as such, teams and parents are reminded that they cannot do the following; “Do not take a team bus to out of town games or tournaments. Do not hold team dinners or parent gatherings at local restaurants, bars, hotels or homes. Do not go inside the arenas for any reason other than to play or watch your son or daughter’s game. Leave the arena immediately once the games end, and do not watch other games.”  As a result, CGHA will not be allowing any profits raised from individual team fundraising to be used for these functions.
