The Cottage Grove Hockey Association is once again fortunate to offer a scholarship to one family who is in financial need for the 2007/2008 hockey season.  The scholarship is dedicated to the memory of Matt Spangler.  Matt, who died in the spring of 2000, was an avid hockey fan and played hockey since elementary school.

Again this year, the scholarship will be awarded to a first time hockey player.  One child who has not previously played hockey due to financial constraints will have the opportunity to play hockey.

 Applications are available on-line at www.cghockey.com or in the arena lobby.  The application deadline is October 31, 2007, with the award being presented in November.

A copy of your family’s latest 1040 tax form must also accompany the application.  The tax information is confidential and will only be reviewed by Ms. Spangler.  A selection committee will review the applications along with Ms. Spangler.  Award recipients and all information discussed during the selection process remains confidential.
