VOLUNTEER (DIBS) FAQs

  • Q: “How do I claim volunteer hours to complete the requirement?”

A: As the hosted event(s) approach, a few weeks beforehand, an email will be sent to all members announcing that “Dibs is open for xxxx Event”. At that time, members are provided a link to go to and view the dates/times for the event and “claim” a volunteer slot that works for their personal schedule.

If you log in, and there is nothing listed – that means all slots have been claimed.

Note: Members are encouraged to review opportunities as soon as they are announced to guarantee finding a time slot that works best for you – volunteer slots get claimed quickly!

  • Q: “I have more than one player in CGHA, does that mean hours per player?”

A: The number of hours requirement is per family, not per player.

  • Q: “Do Home games & Scrimmages at the Traveling level (i.e. Squirt, Peewee, Bantam, Girls 10U, 12U) count for running the clock, penalty box ect?”

A: No, home games & scrimmages do not count against volunteer hours.

Note: District Tournaments & CGHA Tournaments such as Turkey Tourney, Wolfpack Invitational, Skating with the wolves, & Hockey Fest DO count via "DIBs" function on CGHockey.com
